The Common Bond Quartet has committed our time and talents to using music to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ.. Our desire to serve God provides the foundation for our ministry. While we endeavor to encourage and uplift believers through word and song; our passion is to plant seeds in the hearts and minds of unbelievers as we seek to further the Kingdom.

During a concert, Common Bond Quartet will be sure to have you not only smiling, tapping your toes and clapping your hands; but you will also be challenged and encouraged in your walk with Christ. Worship led by Common Bond Quartet will be an experience that we're sure will be a blessing long after the last note is sung.

Welcome Lee McCarren

PRESS RELEASE: Winchester, KY (January 22, 2018) – Common Bond Quartet is excited to welcome Lee McCarren to the group. Lee brings over 20 years’ experience singing tenor and playing drums in various groups. Most recently, Lee was with The Ball Family (Covington, KY) where he started out as their drummer; but before long they discovered he was also a great tenor!

Lee's ability to play drums as well as sing tenor will add an extra dimension to the group. With Karen Tate Melton (alto) on the piano, Rick Melton (lead) on either bass or rhythm guitar, and Lee (tenor) on drums, the group is looking forward to being able to incorporate some fresh sounds and variety into their concerts.

Lee was born in Wilmington, OH, and currently resides in Blanchester, OH with his wife, Rebecca, their two Engligh Mastiffs (Cheech and Bailee) and their four kitties! By day, he works as a purchasing agent for a Cincinnati area safety company.

We are looking forward to getting on the road, and in the studio with Lee, so that you can hear him and get to know him better!

CBQ "Fast Five"

♦ WHAT WAS THE REASON YOU STARTED COMMON BOND QUARTET? / HOW LONG HAS THE GROUP BEEN TOGETHER?

Common Bond Quartet was started in 2009 when Rick Melton (owner/lead) and Kevin Willis (the group’s original tenor) were singing in a quartet in their local church in Mt. Sterling, KY.  Early in 2009 they lost a couple of their members due to job and family obligations.  Rick contacted a long-time friend of his, Bryan Stevenson (bass) who had also been singing in a group in his home church in a nearby town (Winchester, KY) and that group, coincidentally, had also recently lost members .  Rick and Bryan discussed merging the remnants of the two groups: including Rick, Kevin, Bryan and Mike Bradshaw (baritone,) and that was the beginning of Common Bond.  Read More

Radio Music DJ's Hot Top 100  Podcast

We're excited to hear that our latest release, "Don't Let the devil Go to Church with You" has made it to #7 in the Radio Music DJ's Hot Top 100 for the first week of March, 2018. This song has such a great message about the sneaky ways that the devil can get into churches--through grumbling, complaining and negative thoughts. This song by writer Randy Mobley has a great combination of a powerful message and a catchy tune. Produced by Jason Matthew Clark (the Nelons) this song has been very well received by audiences. We look forward to it continuing to climb the charts!
